AIG stands for American’s In Greed!

I don’t understand why my jaw dropped when I heard about the AIG bonuses. I really thought that this bailout nonsense couldn’t shock me anymore. But alas my jaw dropped and I had to scoop it up off the floor. Now if there is a time to become bi-partisan then it is now because I think most Americans can agree that they are disgusted with this use of our tax dollars, even though 92 votes on the house were cast NOT to tax PIG, I mean AIG a 90% retroactive fee on their bonuses.

Starting a blog this month was brilliant because with the news hitting the stands hard it causes my fingers to type even harder on the keyboard and strangely I find it a welcomed stress reliever. I have been against any type of government bailouts because I think the people who made the GREEDY mistakes should take the hard fall. However, here we all are united tax payers shouldering Wall Streets burden. More government means less control us citizens have and it makes me want to scream in Spanish!

AIG can go back to their full out name American International Group as their PR team suggests but they will never fool me. I would not be surprised if certain leaders of this country didn’t get a kickback ($$$) from the AIG bonuses. If I could be the detective to track down where all the Bailout money went then I would be in paradise.

All I can say is that I work for myself and I always have a contract with client and I have never signed a contract that I did not read from beginning to end or understand. So how can all our tax dollars are given so freely to these banks and then our government claims ignorance? Maybe I should work for the government reading contracts; God knows that is where all the jobs are going to be now with all the Stimulus packages coming our way. Soon us tax payers will have to pay taxes up to 39% or higher subsequently that is not my idea of the “HOPE” everyone preached last year!!!!

The only "Change" I see is the Change in my Budget!

Ok I get it, when you become a President who promotes CHANGE you come into office and make drastic changes. But rather then proving a point at the US citizens expense, I plead with you Mr. Obama slow down and look at the future reactions to our economy. Obviously his CHANGE phenomenon does not include looking into the FUTURE. Do not get me wrong I know the Bush Administration did not leave the White House on a high note; it actually left most of us with a bad taste in our mouth.

What chaps my hide is my whole life I have lived well within or below my means and now I will be paying up to 39% of my paycheck to help out others who lived above their means!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was taught my whole life to first tithe 10% and then save as much as I can. This means I choose to spend my money in certain ways. I shop at outlets and thrift stores, buy off-brand groceries, go to matinees, rent library books, only buy things on sale, maintain side jobs for extra cash, pack a lunch and buy used cars. If I would have know that I could have been a Materialistic Obsessed American (MOA) and bought 5k Gucci purses, Prada stilettos, Luxury Cars and a house I cannot afford just to have a "Savior" come in bail me out then maybe my life would be different. Oh wait, I would never be obsessed with stuff I can’t take with me. Sadly enough life is not like “The Girls Next Door” reality show that claims to be reality fooling my generation of Women that these 3 blondes have it all, well all I can say is OY VE!

As a Matter of Fact! (cited: Americans for Prosperity)

When you fight, the politicians get awfully nervous – even on a bill the President, Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid assumed was an easy victory.
While Americans are losing jobs and seeing life savings evaporate this Obama/Pelosi/Reid $410 billion

Omnibus funds earmarks like:
$2.1 million for a Center for Grape Research in NY
$1.7 million for pig odor research in Iowa
$951,500 for Sustainable Las Vegas (I'm not making this up)
$2 million for "the promotion of astronomy" in Hawaii
$200,000 for a tattoo removal program

President Obama, after campaigning on a pledge to veto earmarks, now says $7.7 billion for 8,500 earmarks is ok with him. Sadly, the President cares more about letting his friends in Congress stuff pet projects into an already massive spending bill than keeping his promise to protect the American people from earmarks abuse and waste.

Are you angry that the Administration and some in Congress rolling up deficits that will destroy us? Everything you have worked for is in jeopardy. The worth of your 401K has been cut in half.
The inflation that will follow these huge deficits will devalue the dollars you have left. The stock market has plunged 50%.

Between 1 January and 11 October 2008, owners of stocks in U.S. corporations had suffered about $8 trillion in losses as their holdings declined in value from $20 trillion to $12 trillion.

Household debt grew to $14.5 trillion in midyear 2008, 134% of disposable personal income.[45]
Housing prices continue falling. U.S. homeowners lost $3.3 trillion in home value in 2008

***Call your two Senators today and tell them to vote NO on the Obama/Pelosi/Reid $410 billion Omnibus.

My first Blog ever!

I have never blogged in text but I do a lot of blogging in my head. Last week I attended a RightNOW (www.politicalchicks.com) breakfast on the hill and Mindy Finn (Director of eStrategy, Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign) encouraged us young conservative and modern women to blog to give our opinion a voice. So that is what I decided to do, I cannot sit back and complain that the media does not show us younger conservative women when I am not doing my part.

I was bitten by the political bug when I interned for Congressman Dave Camp of Michigan’s 4th district. I saw that the everyday citizens who came into the office or cared enough to write a letter made a difference. Their ideas and problems were heard and usually solved. So I moved to DC thinking I could change the world. Well I quickly ran into a brick wall of reality but it made me realize I cannot do it alone. So I joined the National Young Republicans and Women Under Forty Political Action Committee ((www.wufpac.org), WeLead (
http://wandp.american.edu/pages.php?ID=24) at American University and RightNOW. I am involved in groups that when we do come together we do make a lasting impact.

I love leadership conferences that inspire young people and God knows I have worked enough of them thank you to Congressional Youth Leadership Council (www.cylc.org). I will end my first blog with a quote and I want to you visualize this quote to hear my message.

Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope... and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. - Robert F Kennedy

About Me

My Photo
Update: I left the political life in DC behind, moved to Chicago and joined the corporate world at Groupon. And now life has changed forever as I am a new mama of Mateo!!!!!!! I need advice all the time so I am starting this blog to get it:) past info.... I was born in raised in Michigan; I have a passion to help the economy back home. I am in DC learning how to do that and advocating for my Michigan home and family. I was in a boat crash that should have been fatal but God protected me and now I am not wasting my second chance at life. I believe that Leadership is taking action. If I say I am going to do something I do it no matter what. My family is everything to me and I surround myself with friends who inspire me. I am a young conservative woman; I like fashion, beauty and appreciate gentlemen who hold the door for me. I also support women and think we need more as CEO's and Political Leaders. Yes, you can be conservative and for women so that is why I am going to blog. If you are the same way then get your voice out there too at this website!
